The next step was to construct a physical grid that would further this understanding. A physical grid was made from wood and arranged in space. Tom Wolfe’s text from The Painted Word was typeset in the physical grid and photographed. This text discussed flatness and illusion of depth in painting and was a good fit to bring into a dimensional space for that reason.
