TILDEN BOTANIC GARDEN

Book designed to provide a ‘encyclopedia of place’ for Tilden Botanic Garden in Berkeley, CA. Design utilizes found text and objects related to the garden as well as photographs and collected illustrations of plant species. Format of the book and treatment of text and images follows the structure of a specimen box where items are pinned in at different levels and the reader has many things besides the text to look at. Emphasis is placed on the boundaries and tension between man-made and organic elements in the park.
